Information We Collect Automatically Through Your Use of Our Site
Sport Sleuth automatically collects and stores certain information that your computer or mobile device provides to us in connection with your use of the Site, such as: the type of computer or mobile device you use; your device’s unique identifier; IP address; MAC address; and your device’s operating system and physical location (including geolocation, beacon based location, and GPS location). We may also store usage data such as the date and time you access our servers, and what information and files have been downloaded to the application based on your device number.
Sport Sleuth may also use third party analytics software and tools to help the Company gather certain information automatically and store it for analytical purposes. These services generally collect non-personally identifiable information, including how often you visit the Site, what areas of the Site you visit, and what other sites or services you used prior to using the Site. For example, Sport Sleuth may use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”) to collect certain information relating to your use of the Site. You can find out more about how Google uses data when you visit our Site by visiting “How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps” (located at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/). This service may also collect information regarding the use of other websites, apps and online resources.
Web beacons are tiny graphic objects embedded in a web page or email, which allow us to check that a user has viewed a page on the Site or an email. We may use web beacons alone or in conjunction with cookies to compile information about our Site. Web beacons may be used within the Site to track email open rates, web page visits, or form submissions. In some cases, we tie the information gathered by web beacons to personally identifiable information. For example, we use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.
4. INFORMATION FROM OTHER SOURCES
Social Media Features. Sport Sleuth may also include social media features such as the Facebook “Like” button, and widgets, such as the “Share This” button. These features collect various information, including your IP address, the areas of the Site you visit, and also may set cookies in order to function properly. Social media features and widgets are hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site.
User Authentication Services. Sport Sleuth may use sign-in services such as Facebook Connect and OpenID to streamline the registration process. These services authenticate your identity and provide you with the option to share certain personally identifiable information with us such as your name and email address to pre-populate our sign up form. Services like Facebook Connect also give you the option to post information about your activities on our website to your profile page to share with others within your network.
Other Sources. In addition to the above ways we collect information, it is conceivable that we may receive information about you from other sources, such as public databases, strategic and joint marketing partners, social media platforms, people with whom you are friends or otherwise connected on social media platforms, as well as from other third parties. For example, if you elect to connect your social media account to your Sport Sleuth account, certain information from your social media account may be shared with us, including information that’s part of your profile or your friends’ profiles.
Likewise, if you contact us via email or by some other means (either through our Site through a third party service), we may keep a record of your contact information and correspondence for later reference.

Sharing with Third Parties. We may provide information to third party service providers that help us operate and manage our Site, process orders, and fulfill and deliver products and services that you purchase from us. These service providers may help host our Site, send out email updates about the Site, provide marketing and advertising services for us, remove repetitive information from our user lists, and process payments. These service providers will have access to your personal information in order to provide these services, but when this occurs we implement reasonable contractual and technical protections to limit their use of that information to helping us provide the service.
We belong to ad networks that may use your browsing activity across participating websites to show you interest-based advertisements on those websites. You can opt-out of receiving interest-based ads from us by deleting all cookies in your browser and resetting your browser to refusal all cookies. To learn more about interest-based advertisements and your opt-out rights and options, visit the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative websites (www.aboutads.info and www.networkadvertising.org). Third Party Advertising & Marketing. From time to time with your consent, we may disclose information with companies who may offer you products and services of interest. You may opt out of this sharing by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Legal Proceedings. We will share personal information with third party companies, organizations or individuals outside of the Company if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

7. SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION
We use industry standard physical, technical and administrative security measures and safeguards to protect the confidentiality and security of your personal information. However, since the Internet is not a 100% secure environment, we cannot guarantee, ensure, or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us. There is no guarantee that information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. It is your responsibility to protect the security of your login information, if any. Please note that emails and other communications you send to us through our Site are not encrypted, and we strongly advise you not to communicate any confidential information through these means.
8. DATA RETENTION
Even if you disable your account, or change your information, we may need to retain certain information for record-keeping purposes or to complete any transactions that you began prior to requesting such change or deletion (e.g., when you make a purchase, you may not be able to change or delete the information provided until after the completion of such purchase). There may also be residual information that will remain within our databases and other records, which will not be removed so that Sport Sleuth will continue to function properly or because it would be burdensome to delete.
9. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, California residents who provide personal information in obtaining products or services for personal, family or household use are entitled to request and obtain from us once a calendar year information about the customer information we shared, if any, with other businesses for their own direct marketing uses. If applicable, this information would include the categories of customer information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared customer information for the immediately prior calendar year (e.g. requests made in 2018 will receive information regarding 2017 sharing activities).
To obtain this information form, please send an email message to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Request for California Privacy Information” on the subject line and in the body of your message. We will provide the requested information to you at your email address in response. Please be aware that not all information sharing is covered by the “Shine the Light” requirements and only information on covered sharing will be included in our response.
